Wellness: Beyond the Therapy Room

Self-Care Is Part of Who We Are

At Heart Line, we don't believe self-care should be something you only get around to when everything else is taken care of. We believe it deserves a place in our everyday lives, our workplaces, and even our mental health care experiences. That's why we've made wellness and self-care an intentional part of the Heart Line experience. From our broader wellness programming to our unique salon collaborations, we're creating opportunities for people to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and enjoy a little time that's just for them. Because sometimes taking care of your mental health looks like a counseling session. Other times, it looks like giving yourself permission to relax, feel good, and simply be cared for.

Bringing Self-Care Into the Counseling Experience

We're proud to be doing something a little different, and being one of the firsts in the state to do it! Through our collaborations with AliRose Salon and Painted by Brie, we've brought professional nail and self-care services directly into the spaces where mental health care happens. With salon services available at our Tomah location and through our collaboration in Mauston, we're creating a unique experience that brings together mental health, wellness, and everyday self-care. For us, this is about more than manicures or beautiful nails. It's about recognizing that confidence, connection, relaxation, and feeling valued all have a place in the conversation about well-being. And we love being able to support local beauty professionals while creating these opportunities!

A Little Self-Care, On Us!

We believe the people who trust us with their care, and the people who dedicate themselves to providing that care, deserve opportunities to prioritize their own well-being. That's why all current Heart Line patients, employees, and interns have access to complimentary self-care services through our participating salon collaborations. Whether it's a little time to unwind, a chance to feel pampered, or simply something to look forward to, we want these experiences to be accessible without adding another financial burden. Already a Heart Line patient? Just ask your clinician or a member of our team how to access these services! We'll be happy to help you learn more about available opportunities and scheduling.

Complimentary services are subject to availability and participating service offerings.

AliRose Salon & Painted by Brie | Tomah

Self-care is a little closer than you might expect at our Tomah office! Through our collaborations with AliRose Salon and Painted by Brie, we've created a space where professional nail services and mental health care can exist under the same roof. Our on-site salon extension welcomes Heart Line patients, employees, interns, and community members alike. You don't need to be receiving counseling services to enjoy the salon! It's one more way we're working to make our spaces feel welcoming, connected, and supportive of the whole person.

Our Commitment to Wellness Goes Beyond the Salon

While our salon collaborations are one of the more unique ways we promote self-care, they're only one piece of our larger commitment to wellness. At Heart Line, we strive to build a culture that recognizes the importance of caring for ourselves while caring for others. Through wellness initiatives, opportunities for connection, creative activities, and community collaborations, we continue exploring ways to support emotional, social, and personal well-being. We want wellness to be something people experience, not just something we encourage them to practice. And as Heart Line continues to grow, so will the ways we bring that philosophy to life.

  • “When you're struggling with your mental health, sometimes even the smallest things for yourself can feel impossible. Being able to get my nails done wasn't just about having pretty nails. It was about taking time for myself, feeling cared for, and remembering that I deserve to feel good too. It might seem like something small, but for me, it meant so much more.”

  • “As a parent, you spend so much time making sure your kids have everything they need that taking care of yourself usually ends up at the bottom of the list. Having access to something like this through Heart Line was such an unexpected gift. It gave me a chance to do something just for myself without having to worry about the cost or feel guilty about it. For a little while, I wasn't just a parent juggling a million things. I was simply someone getting a chance to feel cared for, too. And sometimes, that's exactly what you need.”

  • “Working in mental health, we spend so much of our time encouraging others to prioritize their well-being, but sometimes we're the worst at taking our own advice! What I love about Heart Line is that self-care isn't just something we're encouraged to talk about with our patients. It's something we're actually given opportunities to experience ourselves. Having access to these services at no cost is such a thoughtful benefit, but more than anything, it makes me feel appreciated and valued. It's nice to work somewhere that recognizes we need to be taken care of, too.”
